In the information society, computers and the Internet are playing a dominant role in the formative stage The industrial scene has been witnessing drastic changes on a far wider scale known to mankind due to the application of IT.

 

Program Educational Objectives :

  • PE O1 : To achieve excellence in professional career and/or higher education by acquiring knowledge through engineering principles.
  • PE O2 : To embed technical competence and professional skills by analyzing real life problems for optimal solutions.
  • PE O3 : To exhibit lifelong learning by adapting to the rapid technological changes and advancement in their career.

Program Specific Outcomes :

  • PS O1 :Acquire and apply theory of information technologies in the field of networking, cyber security,artificial intelligence,data science and software engineering.
  • PS O2 :Develop entrepreneurship skills which will provide lifelong learning for solving societal issues.

Programme Outcomes (150)

  1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyse complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.
  3. Design/development of solutions : Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  4. Conduct investigations of complex problems : Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions for complex problems.
  5. Modern tool usage : Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  6. The engineer and society : Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  7. Environment and sustainability : Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  8. Ethics : Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  9. Individual and Team Work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
  10. Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

Dear Students and Parents,
Information Technology(IT) Department of Atharva college of Engineering warmly welcomes you to experience excellence in education through Research, Technology and Innovation.
Proliferation of Information technology brought the world closer and the world’s economy is transforming into a single interdependent system. Today we all can see that revolution of IT(Information Technology) affecting daily lives of individuals and organisations. Even greater transformation is expected with the rise of big data, artificial intelligence, blockchain and internet of things.
In terms of career aspects of Information Technology, it can involve working or leading in product development or research group. So it requires a combination of both technical and business skills. Our department trains true experts and prepare its students to carry out their tasks in making an important contribution to the sustainable development of science , the economy and society. We provide healthy learning environment to nurture social skills and to raise human consciousness so can attain wellbeing of society. We encourage Entrepreneurship by giving wings to imagination by exploring new ways to solve problems and create value so to build tomorrow’s Entrepreneurs.
IT department promotes innovation in learning by inculcating methodologies like “Project based learning”, “flipped classrooms”, “continual assessment modes”, “learning-by-doing” etc.
My own journey over the past few years in Atharva has revealed to me how positive attitude, compassion and inclusiveness of a teacher can have a profound effect on the lives and careers of students.
I am grateful to the excellent and committed team of faculty members of our department for their enthusiasm in creating best learning environment for our dear students.
I am fortunate to have opportunity to be with the students, who always amaze me with their brilliant ideas in variety of technological domains.
