Electronics & Computer Science

Electronics is the branch of science and technology which makes use of the controlled motion of electrons through different media. The ability to control electron flow is usually applied to information handling or device control. Electronics is distinct from electrical science and technology, which deals with the generation, distribution, control and application of electrical power.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO’s) :

  • PEO 1 : Apply technical knowledge to find solution to complex problems encountered in Electronic and Computer Science Engineering.
  • PEO 2: To motivate student to innovate, design, develop hardware and software applications to create novel solutions and products.
  • PEO 3: To enable student to achieve immediate employment in Electronics ,Communication and software industries, to pursue higher education and continue professional development in Electronic and Computer science field.
  • PEO 4: To nurture students to be sensitive and ethical for society and environmental issues while conducting their professional work.

The Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs) of the Electronics & Computer Science department are as follows:

  • PSO 1 : Ability to design, develop and test electronics systems in the areas related to Analog and digital electronics, signal processing, embedded systems and VLSI Design.
  • PSO 2: Ability to analyse and design applications using C, Java , Python , Matlab software programming languages.
  • PSO3: Undertake and excel in higher education and get placed in the company.

Departmental Program outcomes (PO’s) :

  1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyse complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.
  3. Design/development of solutions : Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  4. Conduct investigations of complex problems : Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions for complex problems.
  5. Modern tool usage : Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  6. The engineer and society : Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  7. Environment and sustainability : Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  8. Ethics : Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  9. Individual and Team Work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
  10. Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
  11. Life-long Learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and lifelong learning in the broadest context of technological change.
  12. Project Management and Finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

Welcome to the Department of Electronics & Computer Science at Atharva College of Engineering (ACE), Mumbai. The department is located in a capacious environment with state of art facilities & highly qualified faculty.Electronics & Computer Science is an ever evolving field that has benefitted the progress of society.
In the 21st Century, Electronics Industry has made a tremendous impact on our lives. Electronic gadgets have become an integral part of our lifestyle. In today’s fast-changing world, a new generation of Electronics Engineers needs to be developed to provide environment friendly solutions to the challenges faced due to limited resources. The department has a dedicated faculty to develop all round Electronics & Computer Science graduates with highly professional & Ethical values. The department works with the objective of addressing the challenges faced by the Academia, Industry & the Society. The department endeavors to create a conducive for the students to flourish and aid them in their overall growth, making them ready to be successful and competent in the real world.
